I’ve had some interesting conversations with friends lately.  It appears there aren’t many options for things they are comfortable doing on a Friday or Saturday night.  In particular one of my friends was saying that she’s definitely not interested in hitting the club scene and so it really limited her options on where she could go to meet interesting, amazing men.  

She also mentioned that she’s interested in diversity, but her online experience with men has been such that they were looking for some exotic creature.  They were totally sexually focused and they were not really willing to meet women who want more of a traditional, long lasting relationship that would generally end up in marriage.

 It was then that I realized these individuals, my friends, could use my help as a relationship coach and matchmaker.   Really, I thought it was important for me to assist them and offer a pair of fresh eyes on this quest of theirs to meet amazing men.

My first question to them was, “Where do you go?”  Followed by, “What are your interests? What are you truly passionate about?”  And, “How willing are you to do something differently?”  During informal interviews of several women, I’ve taken an inventory of the activities they shared.  Well, here it is: 

They go to church.

They go to work.

They go to restaurants.

From my own experience and research, generally speaking, that’s not where single and available men go.  Given this, I felt it important to provide my friends with a short and easy “places to go” list:  Dance Classes, Wine Tasting, Golf Lessons, Happy Hour at new venues.  However, my suggestions didn’t go over too well.  Basically, many others have already given them these same lists in which they weren’t interested in placing much effort.   Then I thought, perhaps my single, apprehensive friends might need an emissary to scope out these places on their behalf to help reduce the anxiety that comes along with pursuing the unknown.  So, I’ve made it my job to see if these and other similar places are worth my friends and other singles taking part.

I’m ready to hit the streets and find something new for singles to do, so I now need your help.  Please send me any unanswered question(s) you have that is preventing you from pursuing or participating in a new  activity you’ve been interested in but yet to try/explore.
